36-Year-Old Man Arrested for Brutal Killing of Bassey Isah
The Adamawa State Police Command arrested Aliyu Yakuba, 36, on June 13, 2024, for the brutal killing of Bassey Isah. Yakuba, a resident of Jalingo Daddawa village, UBA, in Hong Local Government Area, is accused of deceiving and fraudulently obtaining three bags of maize from the victim under the pretense of producing counterfeit Naira notes.
On the same day, the suspect allegedly demanded and received a Toyota Starlet car, a motorcycle, and a Carry Go tricycle from Bassey Isah, promising to make him rich overnight. Yakuba then took the victim to a forest, where he struck him with an iron rod and buried him.
Yakuba has confessed to the allegations and will be charged with culpable homicide, punishable by death, and armed robbery upon the conclusion of the investigation, according to the Police Public Relations Officer.
